Taxi Service
Whether it's for point-to-point service on demand, or with an advance reservation, there are a number of reasons why our service is Better Than a TAXI(sm):- All of our vehicles are licensed as limousines with the State of Michigan, and not as taxicabs. This has several advantages for customers:
- We flat-rate every trip, so you know the price ahead of time. (Taxis are not legally allowed to flat-rate trips in Michigan.)
- We don't charge waiting time while in transit*, so you don't have to sit there watching the meter increasing every time you're stuck in traffic or at a red light.
- Our prices are always more reliable than a taxi, and they're generally lower, too. (Prices),
- All of our vehicles are insured at $1,000,000 -- double the amount of most taxicabs.
- Due to our dispatch methodology, our mix of employee and contractor drivers, and the experience of our office staff, we are far more reliable than taxi services for advance reservations, and provide far more accurate ETAs for on-demand orders.
- We offer additional discounts of up to 10% for standing orders (making the same trip at the same time every day, or on the same set of days each week).
- We offer discounts for all round-trip airport service (also see Airport Shuttle and Private Vehicle Airport Service).
- Because we are licensed by the State, and not any individual city, we can actually pick you up where we drop you off without having to worry about arcane local taxi licensing laws!
- For parties of 6-11 on trips of 2.5 miles or more, it's actually cheaper to use our Van Service than to have to call 2 taxis. (Van Service is supposed to be ordered in advance, but we are frequently able to accomodate same-day or on-demand requests -- it never hurts to call!)

*We do, however, charge waiting time when we have to wait more than 5 minutes for a customer to come out to the vehicle, or when we have to wait at any stop on a trip with multiple destinations.
