Discounts:
CASH-In-The-VAN Discount: All orders paid with cash in the vehicle automatically receive a $3 discount for any one-way trip, and a $5 discount for round-trips. Drivers will make change, but are under no obligation to accept $100 bills. This discount is not in addition to any other listed discounts.
UM and EMU Student Discounts: UM and EMU students receive a $3 discount versus posted rates on any one-way trip, and $5 vs. posted rates for any round-trip, whether the order is placed through the website or via phone. UM and EMU students should mention this discount when placing their order, and must show their student ID when boarding the vehicle in order to receive this discount. This discount is not in addition to any other listed discounts.
GoPass! Discount GoPass! holders receive a $3 discount vs. posted rates for all one-way trips, and a $5 discount for all round trips. This discount is not in addition to any other listed discounts.
Website Discount: All orders placed through our website receive a $1 discount for trips to the airport, a $1 discount for trips from the airport, and a $2 discount for round-trips. In order to qualify for this discount, orders must be entered through the website, and any modifications must also be forwarded through the website. This discount is not in addition to any other listed discounts.
Extra Charges:
Late Reservation Charges: Orders placed after 8 p.m. the day before service is desired are subject to a $3 surcharge and are subject to Custom Transit's ability to accomodate the new request.
Same-Day Charges: Orders that are changed at the discretion of the customer on the day that they are scheduled to be serviced are subject to a $5 surcharge each time the reservation is changed. Customers are not charged or penalized in any way for changes that are due to the vagaries of the airlines.
Holiday Charges: There is a $5 surcharge for any leg of a trip that occurs on the following holidays: New Year's Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving or Christmas.
Luggage Charges: Customers are allowed (per person): 1 large bag (up to 50 lbs.), 1 medium bag (up to 30 lbs.), and 1 item that can fit in the passenger's lap. Any luggage over and above this amount may be subject to a $5 per bag surcharge by the driver, REGARDLESS OF WHAT WAS QUOTED ON THE PHONE (as we are unable to see the luggage until the driver arrives at the pick-up point). This charge may also apply to oversize items such as skis or duffle bags.
There is a $10 per item surcharge for any trunks.
All individual pieces of luggage must weigh 70 lbs. or less in order for Custom Transit to be able to transport them.
Round-Trips: Refunds of unused portions or round-trips are subject to a $5 service charge once payment has been collected. This means that the refund will be the difference between the round-trip price and the one-way price (that was actually used), minus $5. This service charge will also apply to customers who have placed a reservation and wish to change it of their own accord (not because of the vagaries of the airlines) if Custom Transit is unable to accomodate the new request.
When a customer does not show up for the second leg of their round-trip, or when they miss their ride with Custom Transit because they have provided us with inaccurate flight information, they are not due any refund of the amount they have paid for the round-trip. If they wish to still travel with us, they must place a new order for which they will be charged (the applicable price).
